Connectivity options include 3G support, dual-SIM card slots, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and on the software front it runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean wrapped under Oppo s Color OS UI.

Oppo’s portfolio in India includes the Oppo Find 5, the Oppo Neo, Oppo R1, and the Oppo N1. As a part of its expansion plans, it will also be launching the Oppo Find 7 sometime in mid-2014.

At this price point, the Oppo Joy will be up against the likes of the Sony Xperia E1 Dual, the Nokia X and the Xolo A500S IPS among others. All the devices are nearly identical featuring a 4-inch WVGA display, dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM and 4GB internal storage that can be expanded using a microSD card.

Where the Joy, Xperia E1 Dual and the Nokia X feature a 3-megapixel rear camera, the A500S boasts a 5-megapixel rear camera. Also only the Joy and the A500S feature front VGA cameras, something that is missing on the Xperia E1 Dual and the X.

All the devices run on Android Jelly Bean, except the X, which runs on a forked version of Android sans the Google services. As far as the prices are concerned, the A500S is the cheapest at Rs 6,698, followed by the X at Rs 7,166. The Xperia E1 Dual and Joy are priced upwards of Rs 8,000.
