Oppo could be working on a new variant of its R11 smartphone, which was recently spotted on benchmarking website Geekbench with slight changes under its hood. The Chinese smartphone maker is also going to launch the FC Barcelona edition of the R11 in China on August 8. It isn t confirmed though if this edition would be the one spotted on Geekbench. To recall, Oppo had launched its dual rear camera smartphones, the R11 and R11 Plus in China back in June. On Geekbench, this variant of the Oppo R11 has a single-core score of 1,512 and a multi-core score of 4,831. The smartphone runs the latest Android 7.1.2 Nougat. Under its hood, runs Qualcomm s Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor clocked at 1.90GHz paired with 6GB of RAM. In comparison, both the Oppo R11 and R11 Plus are powered by the newer Snapdragon 660 SoC, and run Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. The Oppo R11 comes with 4GB of RAM while the bigger R11 Plus packs 6GB of RAM.
The device spotted on GeekBench is speculated to be the FC Barcelona edition, but nothing has been confirmed as yet. Oppo had posted a teaser on Weibo (spotted by TAS), announcing the launch of the FCB edition of the R11 smartphone. The change would essentially be in design and as the teaser shows, it will sport FCB s blue and maroon colors. Oppo hasn t announced the availability of this edition in other markets. Going back to the smartphones, the Oppo R11 features a 5.5-inch full HD display, while the R11 Plus has a 6-inch full HD AMOLED display. Both the smartphones come with 64GB of expandable storage, and 20-megapixel + 16-megapixel dual cameras at the back. Up front, the smartphones sport a 20-megapixel camera for selfies.
