Oppo R15 and R15 Plus were recently spotted in the form of renders on Weibo. The smartphone is expected to be the first device from Oppo with a notch similar to that of Apple iPhone X.
The smartphones were first certified by the China’s 3C with model numbers PAAT00 and PAAM00. The certification confirmed that these devices from Oppo will support fast charging. Since, only the R-series from Oppo supports fast charging, it was assumed that these two devices will be the next in Oppo’s R series lineup. Oppo has further confirmed that the forthcoming R-series phones will be called Oppo R15 and R15 Dream Mirror Edition.
The smartphones have been spotted on TENAA, which reveals the complete specifications of these R-series models. The listings reveals that R15 and R15 Dream Mirror Edition will have variants with model numbers PAAT00, PAAM00, PACT00 and PACM00.
The TENAA listing shows that the device with model number PAAT00 could be the Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition. The device will measure 155.3x75x7.5 mm in dimensions, and weigh around 175 grams. The device is fitted with a 6.28-inch AMOLED display that supports a resolution of 2280×1080 pixels, and is powered by an octa-core chipset clocked at 2.2GHz. It comes with 6GB of RAM and has 128GB of inbuilt storage.
The Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition runs Android 8.1 Oreo, and is backed by a 3,300mAh battery. It also gets dual rear camera setup with 16-megapixel and 12-megapixel image sensors, and a 20-megapixel selfie shooter. The smartphone with model number PAAM00 also features similar specifications suggesting it will be a variant of Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition.
The PACT00 and PACM00 models could be the variants of regular Oppo R15. The TENAA listing suggests that PACT00 will feature a 6.28-inch display, a 2GHz octa-core processor, 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. It will gets a 20-megapixel selfie camera and a combination of 16-megapixel and a 5-megapixel cameras at the back. The smartphone runs Android 8.1 Oreo, and is backed by a 3,365mAh battery.
The TENAA listing does show some renders of the device, but it does not offer concrete design details. The smartphone will feature a notch to house the front camera and other sensors. It is also expected to adopt a slightly taller 19:9 aspect ratio for its displays.
