Oppo is all set to introduce the next-gen R-series smartphones sometime later this month. The Chinese smartphone maker has already been teasing design of the upcoming Oppo R15 and R15 Plus. And the latest leak spills beans over their specifications and features.
An image with complete specifications of both smartphones has recently surfaced on Weibo. Both smartphones come with the same display and design, with minor changes in battery capacity and the chipsets they run on. The Oppo R15 and R15 Plus will feature a 6.28-inch AMOLED display running at a resolution of 2880x1080pixels, with an aspect ratio of 19:9. And yes, the phones will come with a notch on the top of the display.
The Oppo R15 will be powered by MediaTek’s Helio P60 SoC and come with a 3,450mAh battery, whereas the ‘Plus’ variant will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC and come armed with a 3,400mAh battery. There will be 6GB of RAM and 128GB onboard storage. Both smartphones will also support Oppo’s VOOV super-fast charging technology too.
For optics, the Oppo R15 will feature a 16-megapixel primary camera of aperture f/1.7 supplemented with a 5-megapixel f/2.2 camera. The setup will allow users to add DSLR-like bokeh effects to the photos. The R15 Plus will come with the same 16-megapixel primary camera, but the secondary 5-megapixel camera will be of f/1.7 aperture for better low-light photography. Up front, both smartphones will continue focusing on selfie centric audience with a 20-megapixel front camera.
As of now there is no word on the pricing, availability and launch date of both smartphones. However, given the fact that Oppo has been teasing the smartphone in China, launch may just be around the corner.
