Looks like OPPO is working on another selfie-centric smartphone. While the company hasn t officially teased or dropped any hints thus far, the smartphone has made an appearance on benchmarking website GFXBench. The benchmark listing reveals all the key specifications with the highlight being the 20-megapixel front camera. According to the listing, the smartphone bearing the model name R6051 has a 5.5-inch full HD display. It runs on Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box and is powered by 2.2GHz Qualcomm octa-core processor, which is speculated to be Snapdragon 660. This chipset is said to be based on Samsung s 14nm LPP node and is rumored to run on upcoming devices like the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2, Nokia 7 and Nokia 8. The OPPO R6051 has 4GB of RAM. Coming to what could be the highlight of the smartphone, it boasts a 20-megapixel front camera and supports full HD video recording. The listing does not, however, reveal any other features of the smartphone, but it will be safe to predict will come with a slew of selfie-centric features. The smartphone also has a 16-megapixel rear camera that can shoot in full HD resolution. The listing says the rear camera will support auto-focus, HDR mode, flash and face-detection. Other features that benchmarking site reveals include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. It does not have NFC support. It comes with sensors like accelerometer, barometer, gyroscope, light sensor and proximity among others.
The appearance of the OPPO R6051 comes shortly after the company introduced the OPPO F3 Plus selfie-smartphone in India. Priced at Rs Rs 30,990, the smartphone comes with a dual-front camera set up consisting of 16-megapixel and 8-megapixel sensors. On the rear, the smartphone has a 16-megapixel Sony IMX398 sensor with f/1.7 aperture. The F3 Plus is also the most expensive smartphone from the company in the last couple of years.
