Qualcomm has announced three new processors for smartphones — Snapdragon 427, Snapdragon 626, and Snapdragon 653. While the Snapdragon 427 is an entry-level chipset, the Snapdragon 626, is a mid-range one. The Snapdragon 653 too is an SoC for mid-range devices, and as the name suggests it is an improved variant of the Snapdragon 652. The OPPO R9s Plus also showed up on an AnTuTu benchmark database, which was spotted by MySmartPrice, revealed that the upcoming smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm’s new chipset. The processor will be paired with Adreno 510 GPU, 6GB of RAM. Qualcomm’s new chipset features a faster LTE modem, which offers up to five times faster download and upload speeds. Along with that, the chipset also comes with ClearSight technology for built-in support for dual-camera system in smartphones. Other than that, the R9 Plus will also feature 64GB of internal storage space, 6-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) resolution display, along with a 16-megapixel primary camera, and another 16-megapixel secondary camera, which is in line with previous rumors that the smartphone will be a selfie-centric one. OPPO is expected to host an event tomorrow, which October 19, to launch the smartphone. Alongside, the R9s Plus, OPPO is also expected to launch the R9s smartphone as well. From what we know so far, the OPPO R9S will feature a 5.5-inch HD display, Snapdragon 625 chipset, 4GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage. On the camera front, the OPPO R9s will feature a 16-megapixel rear camera, and a 13-megapixel front camera. Also, the OPPO R9s camera will be based on a Sony-made IMX398 sensor. Along with that, the upcoming R9s will be backed by a 3,010mAh battery that will support OPPO s Super VOOC fast charging technology. The technology uses a 5V fast charger and can charge the battery from five to 100 percent in just 15 minutes. OPPO also claims that the VOOC charger keeps the smartphone cool, improves charging efficiency and also prevents any sort of battery damage.
