Oppo, the fourth largest smartphone brand in India, is set to launch its Realme sub-brand exclusively on Amazon India tomorrow. The smartphone will mark a new phase for the company as it tries to take a bite of the market share enjoyed by Xiaomi in the online retail space.
The first device from the sub-brand will be called Realme 1 and the smartphone maker says that its products will be designed with youth in mind. It has also confirmed that all its products will be offered in the Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 price segment. Now ahead of the May 15, the full specifications of the Realme 1 has leaked online.
A Twitter user with the handle @bang_gogo_ has posted the complete specifications of the smartphone. It is said to feature a 6-inch IPS LCD display with a Full HD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and support 18:9 aspect ratio. It is said to be powered by MediaTek MTK6771 CPU (also called as Helio P60) coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. On the camera front, the Realme 1 is said to feature a 13-megapixel main camera with phase detect autofocus and support for AI-based depth effect. The selfie department will be handled by an 8-megapixel front camera along with portrait mode. The Realme 1 will run ColorOS 5.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo and support face unlock feature.
One of the prominent information from this leak seems to be the fact that Oppo’s Realme 1 will lack fingerprint sensor. The teaser so far suggests it will feature a back with diamond black finish similar to the one seen on Oppo F7. It is said to pack a 3,410mAh battery and use microUSB port for charging.
“Today, young consumers prefer a better phone design that represents their different but real personalities. They are looking for an affordable price option without compromising on the built-quality and the device performance,” said Madhav Seth, Chief Executive Officer, Realme India, ahead of the launch.

Realme 1 seems to be focusing on essentials of a smartphone including a design that will make it stand apart from other smartphones relying on generic design. However, it needs to be seen whether they get the price right in order to compete against the likes of Xiaomi and Honor.
