Earlier this year, Oppo launched its online-only brand called Realme, which focuses on smartphones for the youth. The Realme 1 featured a front and back glass design, face unlock and more with a starting price of Rs 8,990. Today, the company has launched the successor to the Realme 1, called Realme 2. The new smartphone retains the design elements as its predecessor, while also bringing some improvements.
Realme 2 now comes with a notched display and giving an aspect ratio of 19:9. The new smartphone also comes with a better chipset, dual rear cameras and a bigger battery to keep things ticking longer. Here’s everything you need to know about the Realme 2.

Realme 2 price in India and availability
The Realme 2 will be offered in two variants – 3GB RAM with 32GB storage for Rs 8,990, and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage priced at Rs 10,990. The smartphone will be exclusively available on Flipkart starting September 4 at 12:00PM. HDFC bank credit and debit card users can avail flat Rs 750 cashback on buying the Realme 2. Lastly, Reliance Jio users can also avail benefits worth Rs 4,200. At this price point, the Realme 2 will compete with the Honor 7C, Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 5.
Realme 2 specifications and features
The Realme 2 flaunts a 6.2-inch HD+ display that runs at a resolution of 720x1520pixels, and a pixel density of 271ppi. The display also comes with a notch on top, giving it an aspect ratio of 19:9. Under the hood is a 14nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC with an octa-core CPU clocked at 1.8GHz. As mentioned above, the chipset is paired with 3GB / 4GB RAM and 32GB / 64GB storage options. A dedicated microSD card slot is also present for further expansion.
In the photography department, you now get a dual-camera setup at the back, which includes a 13-megapixel primary sensor, and a secondary 2-megapixel depth sensor. The second sensor helps in adding DSLR-like bokeh effects to your photos. Up front, you get an 8-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calling. The camera also supports AI beauty mode and bokeh mode to capture selfies with depth-of-field effects.
To keep things ticking, the smartphone is armed with a 4,320mAh battery, which is bigger than the one on the Realme 1. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE with VoLTE connectivity, Bluetooth, GPS and a micro-USB port for data transfer and charging. On the software front, the smartphone comes with Android 8.1 Oreo and ColorOS UI on top. For security, the smartphone comes with a fingerprint sensor and face unlock.
