Realme was launched in India as a sub-brand of Oppo. Its first smartphone was called the Realme 1, which with its stylish diamond back design, was targeted towards the younger generation. Now, Realme has been separated from Oppo and is operating as an individual smartphone company. As an independent brand, Realme is now looking forward to launch its second smartphone, the Realme 2.
Only yesterday, the company touted about its upcoming Realme 2 smartphone on its official Twitter handle and now the company has sent out media invites for a launch event scheduled for August 28. Not just that, the invite is on the same lines as the tweets posted yesterday, pretty much confirming that the successor to the Realme 1 will be coming with a notch display and a bezel-less screen.
Another tweet from Realme also confirms the smartphone to come with dual-rear cameras this time around. While the specifics aren’t mentioned, a report from Binstooshoots has touted the setup to carry a combination of a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. The front camera details haven’t surfaced yet.
Based on an image leaked briefly by Realme, the Realme 2 is said to carry more or less the same design as its predecessor. The diamond back will of course be the highlight of the smartphone, but this time around the smartphone will also feature a fingerprint sensor at the back, which was omitted from the Realme 1.
There has been no word on the internals, but the smartphone is expected to come with pretty much the same hardware, especially in the RAM and storage department. It’s also expected to come with a bigger battery of 3,050mAh battery. Pricing hasn’t been revealed, but there is a good chance that the Realme 2 will also be exclusively available on Amazon India. However, these are all just speculations at this point.
