Realme, a new smartphone brand separated from Oppo, claims to have sold over 3.7 lakh units of Realme 2 smartphone in India. The Realme 2 went on its first flash sale on September 4 and the second flash sale was held on September 11. The Chinese smartphone maker had announced after the first flash sale that it had sold 2 lakh units in India. Now, after the second flash sale, the company claims to have sold 370,000 units in the country. It is not immediately clear how many devices the company had made available during the sale but the numbers show strong response for a brand that has been in inception for just few months. With Realme 2, the Chinese smartphone maker has taken a revised approach and is trying to offer a differentiated product in the market. While the first generation Realme device was based on standard design and used MediaTek chipset, the new device switches to a notch-based design and uses Qualcomm mobile platform.
Realme 2 Specifications and Price
In terms of specifications, the Realme 2 features a 6.2-inch display with a resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels and now supports a notch similar to other Chinese smartphones. Since there is a notch, the Realme 2 gets a taller aspect ratio of 19:9, which is a jump from 18:9 aspect ratio seen on older model.
It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset, which is an octa-core CPU clocked at 1.8GHz coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. It comes in two storage variants: 3GB RAM variant with 32GB storage and a 4GB RAM variant with 64GB storage. On the camera front, there is dual setup comprising of 13-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors at the back.

At the front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.2 aperture and 1.12 micron pixel size. It supports WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and 4G LTE. While the original Realme 1 lacked a fingerprint sensor, the Realme 2 gets a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. It runs Android 8.1 Oreo and is backed by a 4,230mAh battery. The Realme 2 is priced at Rs 8,990 for the base variant with 3GB RAM while the 4GB RAM variant is priced at Rs 10,990.
