After Brazil, India becomes leading market for Hello Network founded by Orkut Buyukkoten

Hello, a social media platform targetted at new age and founded by Orkut Buyukkokten debuted in India last month. Unlike other social media platforms, Hello is driven by ‘Personas’ or one’s passions. Hello can be counted as a new place for all those aspiring photographers, travelers, bloggers or artists to connect via its platforms. Hello users can also earn virtual Hello coins and then spend them to post anonymously or take hidden personality tests. Each activity of engagement on the app gets users points and more visibility. According to an ET report, within two weeks of the Hello beta launch in India, the platform has nearly 10,000 app users in the country. “We are looking to add chai lovers besides the existing ones we have, which are a Bollywood fan, spiritualist persona, and cricket fan, and will also launch in Hindi during the coming months,“ said Buyukkoten on a rather overwhelming response received in the country. Reportedly, 80 percent of the users in India account for Android users and around 20 percent are using Apple iOS devices. Presently, Hello has more than 300,000 users globally out of which majority hails from Brazil. After it debuted in September 2016 globally, India becomes its second-largest leading market.

“We are looking at international markets first and not the US at the moment. We are seeing very high engagement. The number of minutes people spend on the app on an average in a month is 300-400 minutes. That’s higher than Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat; many platforms except Facebook,“ the publication quoted Buyukkokten.
