Panasonic launched a new smartphone under its Eluga series. Called the Panasonic Eluga Pure, the smartphone is currently available in Taiwan. The Panasonic Eluga Pure is up for pre-orders through the company s Taiwan website at NT $4,990 (approximately Rs 10,700) and will start shipping from March 27. As of now, there is no indication if the smartphone will be launched in other markets including India. The smartphone is available in Titanium Crystal Gray color with a metal brushed finish on the real panel. With curved corners and narrow side bezels, the Eluga Pure features a thin metallic strip running on the sides. The power button and volume rockers are placed on the right while the headphone jack is placed on the top alongside the charging port. The smartphone does not feature any fingerprint sensor. Panasonic Eluga Pure specifications
Talking about the specifications, the Eluga Pure features a 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display with 2.5D curved glass on top for protection. It is powered by a MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor clocked at 1.25Ghz. It is paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which is further expandable via microSD card.
For photography, the Eluga Pure is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera along with an 8-megapixel selfie camera. It is fueled by a 2,900mAh battery. While it is not clear if the Panasonic Eluga Pure will make it to the Indian market anytime soon, the company recently launched two new phones in the budget category, called the Eluga Pulse and Eluga Pulse X. The Eluga Pulse is priced at Rs 9,690 while the Pulse X is priced at Rs 10,990.

The internal storage also remains the same at 16GB with option to further boost it up to 128GB via microSD card. It is further equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera along with a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies. It is fuelled by a slightly larger 3,000mAh battery. On the software front, the Eluga Pulse X runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Connectivity options include 4G, VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.
