Panasonic launched the Eluga series of smartphones in India earlier this year, and has since then launched smartphones like the Eluga U and the Eluga A. Today, the company has expanded the smartphone series with a new smartphone called the Eluga S. The selfie-focused smartphone is priced at Rs 11,190, and will be available later this month. One of the talking point on this smartphone is the 5-megapixel selfie camera at the front. There is a gesture feature called ‘Blink Play’, wherein the camera will initiate a three-second countdown when you blink your eyes. As far as specifications are concerned, the Eluga S sports a 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) IPS display, and is powered by a 1.4GHz MediaTek octa-core processor, paired with 1GB of RAM. The smartphone also features an 8-megapixel rear camera capable of shooting videos at 1080p display, and a 2,100mAh battery. Connectivity options include 3G support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and on the software front, it runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
At this price point it will be up against other selfie-focused smartphones like the Karbonn Titanium S19, and the Lava Iris X5 among others.
