Panasonic is set to launch a new range of smartphones in India called Eluga. This is the same series of smartphones the company used to enter the European market back in 2012. The company however exited the market and with it shelved the range of smartphones. There is currently no word on what or how many devices, the company plans on launching here.
Panasonic describes its Eluga smartphones as “Elegance for a new generation.” A couple of years back, the company launched the Eluga DL1 and the Eluga Power in Europe. The former featured a 4.3-inch OLED qHD (960×540 pixels) display, 1GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage, 1,150mAh battery and IP57 certification (water and dust resistant). The Eluga Power, on the other hand, featured a 5-inch 720p display, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage, microSD card slot, 1,800mAh battery and IP57 certification.
It isn t clear if Panasonic will launch these smartphones or completely new ones. After withdrawing from global smartphone markets, Panasonic marked a re-entry into India with a host of Android smartphones that include the P31 and the P81 among others.
