Panasonic has added a new smartphone to its affordable category. Called Panasonic P91, the smartphone boasts a glossy finished and a multi-mode camera as its highlight. It is priced at Rs 6,490 and available across authorized Panasonic outlets. It will be offered in color choices of Blue, Gold, Sand, and Black. There is no word on whether the smartphone will also be available on online stores.
Being priced under Rs 10,000, the Panasonic P91 competes against a range of budget devices such as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Nokia 3, and Moto E4 among others. The phone is protected with graphite film that is claimed to prevent the device from heating and prohibits the damage of circuits.

The Panasonic P91 features a glossy textured finish and packs a 5-inch HD IPS display with wider viewing angles. Under the hood, it packs MT6737M quad-core SoC clocked at 1.1 GHz and paired with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.
For optics, the phone includes an 8-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with flash along with a 5-megapixel camera up front. The camera comes with what the company is called a ‘multi-mode’, this essentially allows the native camera app to scan QR codes, detect scenario automatically, select scene frame, adjust exposure value, record time-lapse and use portrait and professional mode to capture the desired photos. Fueled by a 2,500mAh battery, the smartphone comes with optimized power management software that is claimed to ensure prolonged usage without the need for another charge. The smartphone also comes with support for gesture controls, smart gestures and smart action. The gesture controls are customizable and can be assignedtor specific apps.
