Panasonic has sent out press invites for an event in India on October 4. The company reportedly has plans to launch two flagship smartphones in the country. Up until now, Panasonic India has operated in entry-level and mid-price segments, and it will be the first time the company will launch smartphones in high-end premium segment.

As seen in the invite, the smartphones will carry a notch similar to the new iPhones, and Panasonic hints these to be ‘most powerful and innovative smartphones’ by the company till date. These will be AI-powered phones according to the official invite.

Just yesterday, IANS had reported that Panasonic India is gearing up to launch two Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled premium flagship smartphones in the country. The upcoming two flagship smartphones from Panasonic will feature stainless steel body along with top-of-the-line specifications, company’s own AI-based virtual assistant ‘Arbo’ and wireless charging, noted IANS.

In a recent interview with IANS, Panasonic India’s Mobility Division Head, Pankaj Rana, had said that Japanese electronics manufacturer is aiming to become the top 10 brands in India. It already has a distribution network that takes care of 80 percent of its smartphone business in the country.

“Distribution is our core strength and currently 80 per cent of the business comes from our distribution channel network and 20 per cent from the online channel. Going forward, we believe online will grow up to 30 percent,” Rana told IANS.

The AI-based virtual assistant ‘Arbo’ is Panasonic’s in-house technology. Rana believes that Arbo has helped company positioning of intelligent phones. The company has already launched smartphones in India that come equipped with their AI-assistant ‘Arbo’.
