By bringing offline retailers on the e-commerce platform, Paytm users will be given an option to select the offline store from where they want to purchase a particular product. Buyers can either pickup the product from the brick-and-mortar store or get it delivered at their doorstep. The omni-channel retail format is expected to give more flexibility and convenience to users.
Commenting on this new strategy, Paytm Associate Vice President Amit Bagaria said, With Paytm, the offline retailers will be able to create a brand-specific store on our platform. They will be able to expand their reach significantly and drive sales by leveraging the power of e-commerce. We are focusing on mobile stores and large appliance retailers at the moment as there are a fixed set of SKUs. But we will soon be branching out with this model into other segments as well.
Paytm will also offer offline retailers data and analytics to scale up their virtual brands. Retailers can also create their own content to advertise their products on the e-commerce portal.
