Sony s forthcoming camera centric Honami aka Xperia i1 smartphone has been creating quite the buzz on the Internet in the last month or two. Rumors have stated that the device will sport a 20-megapixel rear camera, and an alleged leaked photo could be the first real proof of that claim. The photo was posted on Google+ (spotted by TechKiddy) by Taylor Li, a Sony Mobile Taiwan employee, and numbers alongside the image provide proof of the camera. The photo has been clicked using the C6902, which is the model number for the non-LTE version of the phone. The EXIF data reveals that the rear camera uses a 20.65-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture, which is capable of taking 3936×5248 pixels photos. It is difficult to comment on the authenticity of the photo, but it does stay consistent with previous rumors.
To recap then, rumors claim that in addition to the big camera, the device will feature a 5-inch display, 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU clocked at 2.2GHz, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, and is also expected to be waterproof and dustproof.
Sony will unveil the device on September 4 at IFA in Berlin.
