Nvidia’s Tegra 4 chipset may sound formidable on paper, but it appears that there are no takers for it and appropriately images of a Nvidia made Tegra 4 slate called the Tegra Tab have surfaced according to GSM Insider. Reportedly, the tablet has been made by Chinese company Shenzhen Homecare Technology and will be a 7-inch tablet. By looks of it, the tablet has a rubber finish similar to the original Nexus 7 and has a 5-megapixel camera on the back. The tablet is also said to HDMI and USB connectivity and will also feature a stylus. There is no word on the display, but one can expect a 1080p panel considering the 72-GPU core in the Tegra 4 chipset. We have already seen Nvidia develop its own hardware in the form of the Shield handheld, so the existence of its own tablet is not surprising especially since OEMs are not keen on adopting its chipset and are going for Qualcomm’s silicon. Google has reverted to Qualcomm for the new Nexus 7 and rumors suggest that Microsoft will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU for the next Surface RT. Till date we have only seen a handful of Tegra 4 based tablets that include a tab from HP, Vizio and Asus, but neither of these are flagship products.
