Shunning all the rumors of Pok mon GO never making to the Apple Watch, Niantic has finally rolled out the game app on the wearable. Although the craze is mellowing down a little now, Pok mon GO shot up to be one of the most popular augmented reality-based games of 2016. Such was the craze that the Pok mon GO climbed up the charts to become the most downloaded apps on the Play Store and App Store in a short time, and had users spending more time on the app than the likes of WhatsApp, Instagram and Snapchat. What this new launch means for Apple Watch users is, that they would no more need to keep the Pok mon GO app open to continue playing the game, they can directly play through their Apple Watch. The new Pok mon GO app for Apple Watch notifies users when there is a Pok mon nearby, and also allows them to collect Pokeballs and other items from Pok stops directly from the wrist. Apple Watch owners can also log their daily walks in the Pok mon GO app, which helps them to hatch eggs and receive other rewards. Pok mon GO was finally launched in India last week, after nearly five months after global launch. Pok mon GO started to roll out from December 14. Niantic also partnered with Reliance Jio, and as a part of the deal, Jio retail stores and charging stations across the country became Pok Stops and Gyms within the game. On JioChat, Pok mon GO players also get access to an exclusive channel, called Pok mon GO Channel. This channel will help players interact with others and share tips or tricks, and also take part in contests and special events. While Pok mon GO is free to download, it does offer a host of in-app purchases that range from Rs 60 to Rs 6,200. For the game to run on your Apple Watch you need an Apple device running on iOS 8 and above.
