The Home ROM has been extracted from a pre-release version of HTC First, the first official phone to have Home preloaded in it and hence is incomplete and also has quite a few bugs. Some features like Chat Heads also don t seem to work.
If you re brave enough to try out Home on your phone, you will have to install three APKs called Katana , Orca and Home , available from the Modaco website. Bear in mind that there are certain hardware requirements and some steps also need to be followed before you can install Home on your device. For one your device has to support a minimum display resolution of 1280×768 pixels and you also have to uninstall the official Facebook app before you can use the APKs. The report also mentions that if you have a Nexus then this version of Home will work well on your device.
For those who don t mind waiting another four days, Facebook Home will hit the Google Play Store on April 12 and will be available on limited devices like the HTC One X, HTC One X+, Samsung GALAXY S III and Samsung GALAXY Note II. The upcoming HTC One and the Samsung GALAXY S 4 too will support Home.
