PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) has seen a series of updates in the past few weeks, but this new one is going to make some big changes to the gaming mechanics.

The biggest change coming via the new update relates to how bullets penetrate vehicles and limbs. PUBG has been very innovative about its bullet mechanics. It is in fact one of the few games to feature variable mechanics to blow up vehicles by shooting at them. One can even shoot at people seated inside the vehicles to dish out some damage.

But the most interesting part of this week’s update will change the damage that a bullet can do when hitting the limbs. With the previous ballistic mechanics overhaul, PUBG introduced different damages for different body zones. But, users soon found out that hands could often block an incoming shot aimed at the head and chest areas. PUBG developer Bluehole has finally decided to address this issue. The developers though haven’t gone into details about how this will work.

Apart from this, there are some other additions as well like an in-game friend system ,which would be welcome. Voice chat for people in the lobby in the main menu is also being added.

The patch notes for these will be coming out in the next few days, and the date for when the update will hit the test servers is also expected to be soon revealed.

PUBG’s updates coming to the Test Servers first is the developer’s way of getting feedback from users before a wider release.
