Huawei launched the Ascend Mate in India back in July and now it seems the Chinese company is close to unveiling its successor the Ascend Mate 2. A set of photos of this forthcoming phablet have surfaced online courtesy Chinese website Weibo (via GforGames). Also Read - Huawei could use Mediatek chipsets on its flagship phones from 2021
As seen in the leaked image above, the black device is the Ascend Mate 2 and it seems to flaunt a big display with a narrower bezel and a brushed metal back. Another image (pictured below) shows a bigger camera sensor with a metal ring around it.
According to rumors, the forthcoming Ascend Mate 2 is likely to feature 6.1-inch display, 1.6GHz HiSilicon Kirin 910 quad-core processor, Mali 450 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera and will run on Android 4.2 wrapped under Emotion UI 2.0.
Let’s see if Huawei launches it at CES, which takes place in less than a fortnight or at MWC in late February.
