Google‘s Doodle Snow Games are in their 16th day and today’s sport is figure skating. Winning the game today is an octopus, who attempts the world’s first double-quad and lands gracefully.

Today’s animated doodle shows the blue octopus scoring a perfect 8 on 8 after an impressive spin. Asked about the perfect mark, Giant Squid says, “Gill-ty as charged, I’m a sucker for jet propulsion!”

Figure skating is the first winter sport included in the Olympics back in 1908. It includes four disciplines namely men’s singles, ladies’ singles, pair skating and ice dancing. Our octopus today appears to have competed in the singles’ discipline against crocodile and squirrel.

These doodles are part of Google’s fun Doodle Snow Games where creatures from the animal world compete against each other in snow sports. The daily doodles run parallel to the ongoing PyeongChang Winter Olympics 2018 taking place in South Korea.

It is the first time the country is playing host to the games and Google has taken the opportunity to run its own doodle games every day on global homepages. As the Winter Olympics draw to a close tomorrow, the Doodle Snow Games will also present their grand finale to mark the closure of 17 days of doodle fun.
