Today’s special from Google‘s Doodle Snow Games shows off a slider Raccoon Dog who happens to wake up from his slumber only to win the Luge competition. The doodle is the fifth in a series of 17 doodles, which Google will be posting throughout the duration of the Winter Olympics 2018.

Luge is a winter sport where the participant, individually or in a team of two, rides a flat sled while lying faceup and feet first. One of the riskiest sports, Luge is contested on a specially designed ice track. It continues to be the fastest sport on ice.

In today’s doodle, the Raccoon Dog takes a 300-foot drop and slides its way to winning the competition. The Raccoon Dog, with features similar to a fox, is a Korean native and can surpass a speed of 153 km per hour and up to 5Gs of acceleration. The doodle is visible on most Google homepages across the world.

In parallel to the Winter Olympics 2018, Google is also running its Doodle Snow Games where the athletes from the animal kingdom compete in an animated, virtual world. Winter Olympics 2018 began on February 9 and will run until February 25, 2018. It is the first time the sporting event is being held in South Korea.
