Qualcomm has unveiled two new processors the Snapdragon 430 and Snapdragon 617. Targeted towards the mid-range smartphones, the company claims it brings high-end performance to the smartphones. The Snapdragon 430 SoC has an octa-core configuration of Cortex-A53 CPUs clocked up to 1.2GHz and paired with Adreno 505 GPU. It is equipped with a new modem that enables X6 LTE and Cat 4 download speeds of up to 150Mbps. There is also support for 2×10 carrier aggregation with Cat 5 uplink speed of up to 75Mbps. The snapdragon 617 boasts of an octa-core configuration of Cortex-A53 CPUs clocked up to 1.5GHz and paired with Adreno 405 GPU. The modem on the Snapdragon 617 is X8 LTE that enables Cat 7 download and upload speeds up to 300Mbps and 100Mbps, respectively. It also has camera sensor support for up to 21-megapixel.
That s not all; both chipsets also support the new Quick Charge 3.0 technology that can charge your smartphone up to four times faster than a regular USB charger.
