The report highlights that this new SoC will use very less computing power to track the position of the pupil and cornea of the eye. It will allow the camera to shoot video at 120 frames per second while using just about 36 million instructions per second (MIPS) of computing power.

The eye-tracking function will be useful in a number of scenarios ranging from controlling wearables to even unlocking your devices. The new platform is expected to be more efficient while giving smoother and higher render speeds. It will also pack a number of features focusing on monitoring health and fitness. As previously reported, the SoC platform will be powered by ARM Cortex A7 processor with Adreno 304 GPU and Blackghost, a new power manager.
