Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu is presenting the Railway Budget 2015 today. This is Narendra Modi-led BJP government s first full year Rail Budget and Prabhu has relayed that there won t be any hike in railways prices. In a significant move, Prabhu also announced e-catering services in 108 trains where you can order food through its IRCTC online platform. This move comes after IRCTC recently tied up with Jubilant Food Works Ltd, the parent company of Domino s Pizza, on a trial basis. As per the arrangement, a passenger travelling in a train without pantry car will be able to place an order for a pizza of his choice either online or through a phone call which would be served at his seat in the train enroute. He also spoke about women safety, modernisation of trains as well as transparency in railways systems. Pabhu announced the introduction of mobile charging facilities in general coaches and Wi-Fi services as well. SMS alert services will begin for passengers to inform them about arrival and departure of trains, and modern facilities for disabled citizens, senior citizens, patients through IRCTC will also be introduced.
