Gaming has become a dominant product segment in the past few years and consumers invested in gaming hardware are now looking for smartphones that complement those hardware. The Razer Phone 2, though has the same design like its predecessor, is now being dubbed as an entertainment and gaming beast. Also Read - Asus ROG Phone 5 design, key specs revealed: Launch imminent?
Razer Phone 2: Specifications and Price
The Razer Phone 2, like all the other flagship smartphones that we have seen so far, features an aluminum and glass build. The back of the device is now made of glass while the body retains the same CNC-machine aluminum. The switch to glass back enables wireless charging and the smartphone is now IP67 water and dust resistant.
However, we are talking Razer here and the company is known for doing things that other brands don’t thing to be worth their efforts. One such change this year with the Razer Phone 2 is the illuminated logo, which uses Razer’s proprietary Chroma tech to easily switch between different RGB color profile. Asus has also added RGB logo to its ROG Phone but gamers have come to prefer the Chroma setting designed by Razer.
On the hardware front, the Razer Phone 2 has the same 5.7-inch IGZO LCD panel with Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and Razer says 16:9 aspect ratio is still the best for multimedia content. The screen, the company claims, is 50 percent brighter than the one seen on its predecessor and hits a maximum of 580 nits. It also has that fast 120Hz refresh rate, which is yet to be seen on any other smartphone.

Under the hood, we are looking at Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC coupled with 8GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. It sports dual 12-megapixel rear camera system with one wide-angle camera and another telephoto camera capable of 2x optical zoom. At the front, Razer Phone 2 is equipped with an 8-megapixel selfie shooter that record 1080p videos at 30 frames per second.
The Razer Phone 2 is all about performance and aesthetics and the company has thus put the fingerprint sensor on the side, instead of putting it on the back like others. The Razer Phone 2 features dual front-powering stereo speakers tuned with Dolby Atmos and is backed by a 4,000mAh battery. The Razer Phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo with Nova Launcher and is priced at $799 (around Rs 59,500). It will be available for pre-order starting 12.01AM PST on October 11 and is not likely to come to India.
