Following a report on possible tariff increase, Reliance Communications has increased the headline tariffs for its services across GSM and CDMA pre-paid mobile networks by 33 percent. According to a report in ET, RCom subscribers will now have to pay 2 paise per second for mobile to mobile call up from 1.5 paise per second earlier. The company had earlier increased the tariffs by 100 percent after the regulatory issues over 2G license cancellation emerged last year. RCom had increased the tariffs on CDMA and GSM special services a few weeks ago by 65 percent and in some cases reduced the validity of discounted minutes of calls on the special or promotional recharge vouchers. The company has now increased the base rate which, however, will not be valid on any of the special promotional scheme by the operator, but will require subscribers to pay more for using its services.
