Realme is now pushing out a new software update for the Realme 2 Pro, days after updating Realme 2 and Realme C1 smartphones. The company has released at over-the-air update for the Realme 2 Pro, which upgrades the security patch to November 2018.

Alongside the latest security patch, the update also brings a number of system-level optimizations. One of the major changes being that customers can now dismiss notifications with a single-swipe. Finally, the headset icon will appear in the status bar whenever you are on a call. The Realme 2 Pro also gets optimized reminders for Developer Options and Accessibility Mode.

Other changes being released as part of this update include optimized photo quality for images shot with the front camera. As one would expect, the update is being rolled out gradually, and will take a couple of days before reaching all the users of Realme 2 Pro. The former subsidiary of Chinese smartphone maker Oppo acknowledged that the smartphone is suffering from battery drain issue.

It added that an update for the Touchpal app, which acts as default keyboard on the Realme 2 Pro, fixes the battery problem. The new update comes just ahead of scheduled ColorOS 5.2 update, which could arrive sometime next month. The ColorOS 5.2 update is expected to act as the base after which the smartphone will be updated directly to Android Pie.

The company also confirmed this week that Realme 2 Pro will get support for slow-motion video recording next year. Realme also plans to allow Realme 2 Pro and Realme 1 users to officially unlock the bootloader with a future update. The Chinese smartphone maker is listening to what its users want and it seemingly wants to deliver on them.

All these announcements and software updates arrive just a week ahead of the launch of Realme U1. The new smartphone will be the first to be powered by MediaTek Helio P70 SoC, and will be company’s first selfie-centric smartphone. The Realme U1 will be launched on November 28, and it will be Amazon India exclusive.
