The year 2018 has been quite eventful for Realme so far. The company, which started off just a few months ago as a subsidiary of Oppo, has launched four smartphones in India, with the fifth arriving next week. However, what’s great is that Realme is also committed towards keeping its devices supported with updates and adding new features to them.
Unveiled two months back, the flagship Realme 2 Pro is a well-rounded smartphone, offering a solid feature set at a fairly-affordable price. And in a few months, it’s about to get even better.
Realme’s CEO Madhav Sheth has confirmed that Realme 2 Pro will get slow-motion video recording functionality in the first quarter of 2019. Announcing the development via a tweet, the CEO said the feature would arrive via an OTA (Over The Air) update. Sheth even said that other smartphones are also being considered for the feature.

In a subsequent tweet, Sheth said that the company will unlock the bootloader and release the source code for Realme 1 early next year. It’s worth mentioning that bootloader unlock for Realme 2 Pro has already been confirmed.
Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, Realme 2 Pro features 4GB/8GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal storage. The smartphone has a 6.3-inch FullHD+ display with a ‘waterdrop’ notch and runs Android Oreo, skinned with Color OS overlay.
