Xiaomi has launched two smartphones, Redmi Note 3 and the flagship Mi 5, so far this year. Now, the company is gearing up to launch two new smartphones. The two upcoming Xiaomi smartphones have already been spotted on TENAA certification website and are believed to be successors of the Redmi 3 and Redmi Note 3 smartphones. The listing also reveals key specifications of the two smartphones. The images on the TENAA site, codenamed 2016030 and 2015115, strongly hint that the two devices are new versions of the Redmi 3 and Redmi Note 3. The smartphone with codename 2016030, likely to be the Redmi 3 successor, comes with a 5-inch LCD 720p display. It is powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz and paired with 2GB of RAM. Also on offer is 16GB of onboard storage, and supports expandable storage. On the camera front, the smartphone features a 13-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel selfie camera. It is powered by a 2,800 mAh battery. The smartphone runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out-of-the-box.
In comparison, the Xiaomi Redmi 3 has a 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel camera. The Redmi 3 comes with a larger 4,100 mAh battery. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop. Interestingly, the image spotted on TENAA certification reveals a fingerprint scanner on the back of the rumored device, just like the Redmi Note 3.
Coming to the second rumored device, also believed to be the Redmi Note 3 successor. It features a 5.5-inch full HD display. It runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and is powered by a 1.8GHz hexa-core processor along with 2GB of RAM. It comes with 16GB of storage, and also supports expandable storage. The camera set up on the device is very similar to the Redmi Note 3. It also has a 16-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera. It features a metal body and is equipped with 4,000 mAh battery. It is also said to come with a fingerprint sensor at the back just like the Redmi Note 3.
In comparison, the Redmi Note 3 has a 16-megapixel and 5-megapixel camera and comes with a larger 4,050mAh battery. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 comes in two variants- 16GB and 32GB variant with 2GB and 3GB of RAM respectively. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and has fingerprint scanner on its back panel.
Though there is no official word from the company, but passing from TENAA certification strongly hints that the new devices might launch soon. Xiaomi is going to launch its Mi Band 2 on June 7. It is highly likely that the new smartphones will be announced on the same day.
