Samsung is reportedly going to start selling refurbished Galaxy Note 7 smartphones from next week. The smartphone could be launched as the Galaxy Note 7 FE (Fandom Edition) or Galaxy Note 7R wherein ‘R’ stands for refurbished.
Over 3 million units of Galaxy Note 7 were reportedly recalled from the market, which caused Samsung significant losses on all fronts. However, according to AFP, concerns raised by environmentalists led the company to refurbish the smartphone rather than discarding the recalled Galaxy Note 7 units. Notably, Samsung also launched its flagship smartphone Galaxy S8 smartphones which have apparently generated rave reviews for its design and a fan base for itself. Notably, the Galaxy Note 7 Refurbished phablet is said to continue with the initial specifications it was launched with the last year but with a reduced battery capacity. However, Samsung will reintroduce scaled down pricing which is expected to be around $600 (approximately Rs 40,000), YonhapNews notes. The report also suggests that the company will officially start selling the refurbished units from July 7 this year. It is expected to come in new color variants such as Blue Coral, Gold Platinum, Silver Titanium and Black Onyx.
