Reliance Digital has launched another smartphone in its Water series, called LYF Water 11. The smartphone is priced at Rs 8,199. Just like all the other LYF smartphone, this device also comes with 4G and VoLTE support. The smartphone will only be available in rose gold color variants. The smartphone has a metallic back, which looks very much similar to the Xiaomi Redmi 3s. However the smartphone doesn’t have full-metal body like the Xioami Redmi 3s. The launch of the new LYF smartphone comes on the same day as Reliance Jio announced commercial roll out of its services in the country. Reliance Jio has also announced aggressively priced data plans, and offers aimed at students and enterprise. Some of the major announcements include making the voice calls free, 25 percent extra data for students, 1GB data for Rs 50 and plans to set up 1 million Wi-Fi hotspots across the country. The operator is also improving the KYC mechanism by leveraging Aadhar project for identification and verification. With the e-KYC, Jio subscribers can get their SIM cards activated within 15 minutes. Reliance Digital LYF Water 11 specifications
The smartphone flaunts a at a 5-inch HD display with a pixel density of 294 ppi. Under the hood runs a MediaTek 64-bit quad-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM. Also on offer is 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded via microSD card up to 32GB.
On the camera front, the smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear facing camera and a 5-megapixel front facing selfie camera. Other camera features include Digital Zoom 4X (Rear & Front), Auto-Focus, Multi-Angle View Mode, Auto-Scene Detection, Face Detection, Video Snapshot, Smile Shot and Gesture Capture. It also records videos in 1080p at 30 frames per second. The Lyf Water 11 comes with sensors like Accelerometer, Ambient Light Sensor and Proximity Sensor.
On the connectivity front the smartphone supports LTE Cat 4, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi: 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth: v4.1, GPS, Micro USB 2.0 Port, USB OTG, 3.5mm Audio jack and FM Radio. The smartphone comes with 2,100mAh battery that the company says is good enough to deliver 5 hours of HD video payback, 7 hours of talk time on 4G and standby time of up to 300 hours. At this price range the smartphone will compete with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 3s Prime and InFocus Bingo 50+. The InFocus Bingo 50+ which is priced at Rs 7,999 comes with 5.5-inch HD display, 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage, expandable up to 64GB, 13-megapixel rear camera, an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, 2,600mAh battery, VoLTE, LTE, dual-SIM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.
Xiaomi’s Redmi 3S Prime which costs Rs 8,999. And comes with full-metal body, the smartphone features a 5-inch HD display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM, microSD card slot, 13-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front facing camera, dual-SIM, 4G, VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.1 and Wi-Fi. Its advantages over the Bingo 50+ and LYF Water 11 are that it includes a fingerprint scanner at the back, and a massive 4,100mAh battery.
