How to live stream IPL 2018 with the Hotstar pack
In case you are not an Airtel or Reliance Jio user, the Rs 299 Hotstar pack will support all of its live sports programmes, including the upcoming IPL 2018, which will start this Saturday, that is April 7. The pack will extend access to Vivo IPL, Asia Cup, Pro Kabaddi League, Premier League, Formula One and all Grand Slams. Hotstar says that after 10 minutes of streaming a live match, a user will be prompted to sign up for the Rs 299 Sports Pack. So, if you want to watch the IPL live this Saturday, ideally you should sign up for the pack in advance, so you are not interrupted between the match.
In case, you wish to access more than just sports content, then you can subscribe to Hotstar Premium, in which case you will be able to continue streaming, both the live sports matches and access other premium paid content.
And if you are relying on the delayed feed, which Hotstar always streams, there won’t be any of it this time. This means, either you get the Rs 299 All Sports Pack, or you sign up for Hotstar Premium, otherwise you will only be able to see the first 10 minutes of the match for free.

Hotstar Premium costs Rs 199 per month or Rs 999 for a year. It makes sense to go for the Premium account only if you are interested in other content like movies and TV Shows. If sports is your focus, then the Rs 299 pack is a better deal, since that gives you access to exclusive sports content for a year long.
In addition to the live stream, Hotstar has also launched something called “WatchN’Play”, which is basically an interactive game, where you can test your knowledge with other fans who are also watching the match live. Apparently, Hotstar is also adding VR support to the content.
