Another day, another voice and data plan. Continuing the data war, Airtel today launched a new prepaid plan under which it is offering subscribers voice and data benefits for one day. The new plan is priced at Rs 9 and counters Reliance Jio’s cheapest offering of Rs 19.

As part of the plan, if you are an Airtel subscriber, you can avail unlimited local, STD, and roaming calls for a validity period of one day. You also get 100 SMS and 100MB of data with the recharge, Gadgets 360 reports. However, there is no clarity on whether it is 3G or 4G data. In comparison, Reliance Jio‘s Rs 19 plan offers unlimited calls, 20 SMS, and 150 MB of data for the validity of one day.

This makes the offering by Airtel slightly better in terms of SMS and data quota. If you want to avail higher data quota, you can recharge with the Rs 23 plan which will give you 200MB of data for a period of two days. The Rs 9 plan is available through Airtel’s mobile app or website. As the report notes, the recharge pack is available under the Combo Offer section.

Airtel has also revised its Rs 93 plan to counter Jio. Under the refreshed offer, you get 1GB of 3G/4G data for a validity of 28 days with no daily data cap. The plan also comes bundled with unlimited voice calls and SMSes benefits. Earlier, the plan offered the same benefits but with a validity of 10 days.

Meanwhile, Airtel has included a new Karbonn smartphone for its cashback offer. The Karbonn Titanium Jumbo 2 will be available with the Rs 2,000 cashback. All that you need to do is purchase the smartphone with the offer and achieve cumulative recharge value of Rs 3,500 for the first 18 months to avail Rs 500 as cashback and then follow the same recharge value for the next 18 months to receive the remaining Rs 1,000 cashback.
