Just yesterday BSNL launched a postpaid plan priced at Rs 1,595 that offers unlimited voice and data without any FUP restrictions. Now, the state-run telecom operator has extended the benefits to prepaid users as well. Under is new “KOOL” offer priced at Rs 1,099, the telecom operator is offering unlimited local and national calls – both in home network and roaming.
Unlike other operators where you have a daily FUP of 1GB or 2GB, BSNL’s plan comes with unlimited data without any daily FUP. The only downside is that while other operators have 3G/4G connectivity, BSNL network is restricted to 2G/3G. Jio also offers unlimited data, but after the daily limit is hit, the speed is throttled to 64Kbps, and it gets refreshed every midnight.
BSNL’s plan comes with 84 days validity, and also includes 100 SMS per day. Under the offer, BSNL will also offer its prepaid subscribers access to Personalized Ring Back Tone (PRBT). While Rs 1,099 is double of what other operators are charging, you get the benefit of truly unlimited data access. The plan is available across all BSNL circles in India.
While rivals have the advantage of 4G network, BSNL has only today started rolling out 4G services starting with Kerala, and it is expected to expand to other states in the coming months. Recently, BSNL also extended its free Sunday calling offer for another three months until April 30.
The offer will allow BSNL landline subscribers to make unlimited calls to any network on Sundays between 10:30PM to 6:30AM. A BSNL officer had earlier said that the offer aims to encourage people to use landlines when at home, and save on their phone bills.
