After Reliance Jio launched the Rs 199 and Rs 299 plan last week, BSNL and Vodafone have been quick to catch up on the offering. While just earlier today BSNL revised its Plan 186, and Vodafone has now launched a new Rs 198 plan. The new plan comes a little more closer to Jio s offer, than what BSNL has rolled out. Under the new offer, in Rs 198, customers will get unlimited local and STD calls, 100 daily SMS, free national roaming, and 1GB daily data. The plan has a validity of 28 days, which means, effectively the plan offers 28GB data through its validity. However, the plan has a caveat, which you must know. The Rs 198 plan is only valid for Vodafone s existing customer. If you are a new customer, you need to pay Rs 229 for the same offer.
This plan by Vodafone competes with Reliance Jio s Happy New Year 2018 plan, under which, there is a Rs 199 offer, and a Rs 299 one. While the Rs 199 plan offers free voice and unlimited data with a cap of 1.2GB 4G data per day and unlimited SMS, along with subscription to premium Jio Apps, the Rs 299 plan offers free voice, and 2GB 4G data per day, unlimited SMS and access to premium Jio Apps for all Jio Prime Members. Both the offers have a validity of 28 days. The plan is available pan India and is applicable to both new and existing Jio users.
BSNL, on the other hand, has revised its Plan 186, wherein the network provider is now offering 5GB of high-speed data, up from the earlier 1GB data. The plan also includes 1,000 SMS. The validity of the offer is 28 days. While the offer is applicable to both new and existing BSNL prepaid users, it is not available in Mumbai and Delhi.
