In its ongoing efforts to counter Reliance Jio, Vodafone has launched two new plans today for its 4G customers. The two plans are called SuperDay and SuperWeek and come with a validity of one day and seven days, as the names suggest. The two packs offer unlimited calls and 4G data starting at Rs 19 for its users. There is one pack under SuperDay and two packs under the SuperWeek offer. The SuperDay plan is priced at Rs 19 and offers 100MB of 4G data with a validity of one day. This pack also offers unlimited local and STD locals within Vodafone network. The first pack under SuperWeek offer is priced at Rs 49 and offers 250MB of 4G data with a validity of seven days. This pack too allows users to make unlimited local and STD calls, but within Vodafone network only.
The costliest pack under the SuperWeek plan is priced at Rs 89 and offers the same 250MB of 4G data which users can enjoy for a period of seven days. This pack, however, offers 100 minutes of local and STD calls to other networks. In addition, users also get the unlimited local and STD calls within Vodafone network. Any new plans offering additional data and calling benefits by Vodafone, and telcos like Airtel, Idea Cellular are immediately seen as a way to compete against Jio s affordable tariffs. In fact, the pricing of Vodafone s SuperDay and SuperWeek plans are similar to what Reliance Jio offers. Jio started paid services last month and launched its updated prepaid and postpaid plans. In comparison, Jio s Rs 19 plan offers 200MB of 4G data to Prime members, and 100MB to non-Prime members with validity of one day. Jio s Rs 49 plan comes with a three-day validity offering 600MB data to Prime users and 300MB to non-Prime users. Jio doesn t have a plan priced at Rs 89, but somewhere close is the Rs 96 plan with seven days validity offering 7GB data to Prime users and 600MB to non-Prime users. All of Jio s plans are bundled with unlimited local and STD calls for all networks across India, national roaming and unlimited SMS as well.
