As voice calls are getting free and data is getting cheaper, telcos are looking at new ways to make their prepaid plans more attractive. Over the past couple of months, operators have announced a bunch of long validity prepaid plans. Vodafone recently introduced a new recharge plan priced at Rs 279 which offers 84 days validity.
It is not an open market plan, and is only available to select users in 4G circles. It is also the cheapest plan priced under Rs 300 to come with long validity. Talking about benefits, the plan comes with unlimited local and national calling and unlimited roaming. However, there is a small catch as the unlimited calling comes with an FUP.
Vodafone is capping outgoing calls to 250 minutes daily and 1,000 minutes weekly. The plan also comes with 4GB high-speed 3G / 4G which is valid through 84 days. The data benefit isn’t much considering there are plans that offer 1.4GB daily data, and more, but this plan caters to users who want long validity at affordable rate.
In comparison, Reliance Jio and Airtel also offer similar plans. Jio has a plan priced at Rs 399 which offers 84-day. This plan also offers unlimited calls without any FUP and 100 SMS per day. The plan also includes 1.5GB of high-speed data usage per day, after which the speed is throttled to 64kbps.
Similarly, Airtel also offers a Rs 399 plan with similar benefits, although the validity is a bit less at 70 days. The plan offers 1.4GB daily data, unlimited local and national calls without any FUP, and 100 free SMS daily.
