Today, Reliance Jio held the second flash sale for its new JioPhone 2 and pretty much like the first time, the available stock seems to have run out in a matter of minutes. If you weren’t successful in getting a phone this time, then don’t worry as the company has already announced that it will be the hosting another flash sale for the feature phone on September 6 at 12:00PM. Like the previous times, the sale will be hosted on Jio.com and the MyJio App.
Announced at Reliance Industries’ 41st annual general meeting, the JioPhone 2 is the successor to the first JioPhone and comes priced at Rs 2,999. It also comes with noteworthy upgrades, one of which is a QWERTY keyboard that makes the typing experience a lot smoother and faster this time around.
In order to purchase the phone, users need to register their Jio account on the website and fill in their details. After successfully getting a phone into your cart and making the payment, the JioPhone 2 will be delivered to the customer’s home within a week. However, there is no specific delivery timeline given by the company.
JioPhone 2 features and specifications
To quickly recall, the JioPhone 2 features the same 2.4-inch QVGA display likes its predecessor, but with a QWERTY keyboard this time. It features basic hardware consisting of a Spreadtrum 9820 dual-core SoC, running alongside 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage. The phone also supports expandable storage of up to 128GB via a microSD card.

In the camera department, the JioPhone 2 sports a 2-megapixel rear camera and a a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera for taking selfies. One of the key highlights of the phone is its KaiOS which features a simple interface, but also gives access to popular apps like WhatsApp, YouTube, and Facebook. Connectivity options include dual-SIM, VoLTE, VoWi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. The device is backed by a 2,000mAh battery.
