Chinese smartphone maker Oppo has announced partnership with Reliance Jio to offer cashback and additional data. With Jio Oppo monsoon offer, those buying an Oppo smartphone will be eligible for up to 3.2TB of 4G data from Reliance Jio and benefits up to Rs 4,900.
Here is how the offer works:
Reliance Jio subscribers buying new Oppo device on their old or new Jio SIM connection can avail these benefits. Jio is offering instant cashback benefits of Rs 1,800 that will be credited in the form of 36 cashback vouchers worth Rs 50 each. Jio is also offering up to Rs 1,800 in the form of JioMoney credit.
The JioMoney credit will be paid in three equal tranches of Rs 600 each after the customer makes 13th, 26th and 39th recharge on their Jio number. There is also partner benefits worth Rs 1,300 in the form of discount coupons from Makemytrip. The offer is valid from June 28, 2018 and the cashback is applicable on recharge of Rs 198 or Rs 299 prepaid tariff plans.
Reliance Jio’s Rs 198 prepaid plan offers 2GB 4G data per day and has a validity of 28 days. The plan offers 56GB 4G data along with unlimited local and STD calls, free roaming and 100 SMS per day. The Rs 299 plan is a 3GB per day data pack that has a validity of 28 days. With recharge of Rs 299, Reliance Jio customers get 84GB data for a period of 28 days in addition to free voice calls, roaming and 100 SMS per day.
Oppo is the third largest smartphone player in the country and has been expanding its presence in the offline as well as online retail channels. Reliance Jio has similar partnership with other leading smartphone makers including Apple, Samsung, Honor, Xiaomi, Vivo, HMD Global among others. The Mukesh Ambani-led telecom player has shaken up the industry by offering cheaper data and unlimited calling as default.

The operator has forced the telecom industry into consolidation with incumbent players like Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and Idea forced to change their tariff plans. With OEM partnerships, Reliance Jio is further broadening its reach to consumers upgrading to new smartphones.
