How does Car Connect OBD work?
It is basically a hardware and software combination that offers an access to different subsystems of the car. The hardware device will read data from car s sensors, simplify and present it in an intuitive interface on PCs, smartphone and tablets. The Car Connect OBD will greatly help in diagnosis of faults in a car. It will also offer access to several performance parameters of the vehicle s subsystem. This OBD device will work with Jio SIM card. Users will have to connect it to the car s OBD port, which will also create a Wi-Fi hotspot on the go, thus also allowing users to connect their smartphones or tablets and access information. Users will have to download the Jio Car Connect mobile app, which will enable them to view vital car statistics such as oil and water level, fuel info, alerts to change battery and more. One can also view information on distance covered, temperature and speed information. Coming to safety features, the app can also alert about door alert (if a door is open), speed alert (in case one overspeeds the desired limit), panic alert (theft alarm) and harsh braking too. As you start walking towards your car in parking lot, you can even switch on the AC in your car. You can also get weather information and data on your driving patterns. The Car Connect OBD can also come handy when you re buying a second-hand car. It can benchmark the car and reveal parameters based on credibility of car for sale, any accidents encountered in the past, and more. Finally, each car will have its own unique SIM card and IP address, allowing them to communicate with each others. In the future, this could not only help in forecasting traffic jams, but also alert you for taking detours.
Moreover, users will also get an access to ecosystem of Reliance Jio apps — including JioTV, JioBeats, JioCinema, JioMusic and more. With in-car entertainment, users can stream their favorite songs, movie or TV channels on the go. However, we won t recommend one to watch movies or live TV while driving as it can be distracting. If you have the JioJoin app installed, you can also make unlimited free outgoing voice calls too.
