Although network hiccups continue to plague Reliance Jio customers, it doesn’t stop the company from turning on the heat on incumbent players. One way Jio is able to do this is by revising (read once again slashing) its 4G data plan prices. The new Jio plans are live, and start as low as Rs 149 per month and offer 1GB of data per day.
The cheapest offering continues to be through Sachet Packs, which start at Rs 19 for 0.15GB data for a validity of one day. A recharge of Rs 52 will give you 1.05GB data with a validity period of 7 days. Similarly, recharging your Jio connection by Rs 98 will give you 2.1GB data valid for 14 days.
The data plans offering 1GB per day start at Rs 149, which is valid for 28 days. A recharge of Rs 349 will give you 70GB of data valid for 70 days. If you recharge your Jio connection by Rs 399, you get 84GB of data valid for 84 days. A recharge of Rs 449 adds 91GB of data with a validity of 91 days to your connection.
For those who have a slightly higher data consumption, the operator has also added 1.5GB per day data plans. These are available at prices starting Rs 198 for 42GB data for 28 days, followed by Rs 398 plan for 105GB data that is valid for 70 days, Rs 448 for 126GB of data which is valid for 84 days, and Rs 498 plan for 136GB of data valid for 91 days.
There is only one pack for those with 2GB per day data consumption pattern. These are priced at Rs 299 and offers 56GB of data for a validity of 28 days.
What could prove to be one of the best plans is the Rs 509 plan that offers 84GB of data at the rate of 3GB/day for a validity of 28 days. Earlier this plan offered only 2GB/day data quota for 49 days. The Rs 799 plan has also been revised to now offer 140GB data at the rate of 5GB/day for a period of 28 days. Earlier, the daily limit was restricted to 3GB.
The new data plans are part of the Happy New Year 2018 promotion from Jio, and are available only for prepaid Prime subscribers. These data plans, come with the usual unlimited calling feature, zero roaming charges, 100 free SMSes per day, and access to Jio apps. If you’re a Prime subscriber, you can purchase these plans from the MyJio app or through the official Jio website.
