Reliance Jio Infocomm is reportedly planning to hire 500 telecom professionals before the roll out of its 4G LTE service, which will happen by September. According to ET, Reliance Jio will bring about 300 telecom professionals for senior level posts, and has already hired about seven circle heads. The company is also negotiating with circle heads of several telecom operators, to bring them on board.
Reliance Jio has reportedly already poached Murali Kittu from Bharti Airtel and has allotted him a circle to head operations there. The company had recently also hired Amitabh Jaipuria, who was the former chief executive of AGS Transact Technologies, as its new president of fixed wireline business.
The company has decided on pitching Indian talent for operations, sales and marketing, and supply chain divisions while another set of people who can work in the technology and customer service areas.
Reliance Jio has unified service licences for pan-India operations, and recently got a nod from Trai for proving voice calling services as well. The company had recently also won airwaves in 1,800MHz spectrum across 14 circles by paying about Rs 11,000 crore, and will be using this to offer voice services as well as data services. Reliance Jio had recently also inked yet another deal with Reliance Communications for Rs 5,000 crore to share optical fibre infrastructure.
The report mentions that the company’s service launch has been pushed as it is working on rolling out voice and data as well as provide fibre to home connectivity together, at the same time.
