At the 41st AGM, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani announced that JioPhone now has 25 million users in India, and the total subscriber base of Reliance Jio has hit the 215 million milestone. India still has a lot of feature phone users, and with that in mind, the company aspires to have 100 million users on the JioPhone platform over the next few months. At the AGM, Isha Ambani mentioned that users had been requesting for a QWERTY keypad for easy typing, and so the telecom operator has now announced the JioPhone 2.
Reliance JioPhone 2 price in India and availability
The JioPhone 2 is priced at Rs 2,999 and will be available to purchase starting August 15. Jio is also offering some exchange discount on the first JioPhone. If you have an existing feature phone, you can replace that and get a new JioPhone for just Rs 501, instead of Rs 1,500.

Reliance JioPhone 2 specifications and features
The smart feature phone comes with a 2.4-inch QVGA display with wide-screen aspect ratio. This will help you in making movie and video watching experience better. The JioPhone 2 comes with 512MB of RAM and 4GB internal storage. A microSD card slot with support for up to 128GB is also present.
As mentioned above, the highlight of the JioPhone 2 is the QWERTY keypad and you also get a 4-way navigation key above it. The phone comes with a mono loudspeaker, 2-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front camera, and a 2,000mAh battery.
In terms of connectivity, it features dual SIM card slots, VoLTE and VoWi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. The LTE band is Cat4 capable, which allows for maximum download speed of up to 150Mbps and upload speed of up to 50Mbps. The JioPhone 2 runs on KaiOS and supports apps such as WhatsApp, YouTube, Facebook and others.
