At its annual general meeting on Thursday has announced another great offer for all feature phone users in India. Under the new “JioPhone Monsoon Hungama Offer”, anyone with a feature phone can exchange their feature phone for an all new original JioPhone for just Rs 501.
The “JioPhone Monsoon Hungama Offer” starts July 21, and the effective pricing of JioPhone with the offer comes down to Rs 501 from Rs 1500. Speaking at the conference, Mukesh Ambani announced that JioPhone already has 25 million users in India and the company is targeting for 100 million JioPhone users next in the ‘shortest possible time’.
The JioPhone is also getting three popular social media apps YouTube, Facebook and WhatsApp. With the arrival of YouTube, Facebook and WhatsApp on August 15, the feature phone will become even more lucrative to potential feature phone buyers.

Ambani also announced the successor to JioPhone, the JioPhone 2. The device comes with a bigger colored display and QWERTY keyboard. It features a 2.4-inch QVGA screen. It runs on KaiOS, and comes with dual-SIM connectivity. It also sports a 2000mAh battery, support for storage expansion through a micro-SD card, a 2-megapixel rear camera, VGA front camera and a mono speaker. You also get 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, FM, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and NFC connectivity. The JioPhone 2 like the original JioPhone will only run 4G, and will be SIM-locked to the Jio network with VoLTE and VoWiFi connectivity for placing voice calls.
The JioPhone 2 is priced at Rs 2,999 and will be available from next month, August 15. Registrations for JioGigaFiber also starts from August 15.
