Reliance Jio has a suite of apps – JioCinema for on-demand movie streaming, JioMusic for streaming music, JioNewsXpress among others. There is one more app called JioTV where you can live stream TV channels on the go. Now, while the app allows you to watch IPL 2017 matches on Sony Max with Hindi commentary, but the stream with English commentary is only offered on Hotstar. When you open JioTV app, the first two channels in the list are Hotstar, and Hotstar Hindi. Tapping on any of them will open the app and you will be able to stream in the respective language.
In case you don’t have the Hotstar app downloaded, it will redirect you to Google Play Store or Apple App Store to download it. Now, the next time you tap on the link on JioTV app, the Hotstar app will open and you will be able to enjoy the real-time live streaming of IPL 2017 T20 matches in English and Hindi languages.
However, there is one thing you need to keep in mind. Reliance Jio users can only stream IPL matches for free, apart from that if users want to access Premium TV series and movies, they will have to subscribe for premium service by paying Rs 199 per month. Jio TV app gives you access to watch 432 live channels in 15 regional languages. It is worth noting that Reliance Jio started the service with just 200 channels across six languages.
