Earlier in the morning we had reported that the iPad 3 will feature a very similar form factor to that of the current version but will feature massively improved internals. Now comes a report via AllThingsD that Apple is going to unveil its next generation tablet at its trademark event in the first week of March, defying rumours of a February launch. AllThingsD cites anonymous sources but also states that it will be available in the market a week after the event. As reported earlier the iPad is expected to have a faster processor (Dual-Core or even Quad-core), an upgraded GPU, a retina display, better battery life and an enhanced camera module all in the same form factor.
Previously the iPad 2 was unveiled on the 2nd of March 2011 and hit the shelves by March 11, 2011. Apple s late Co-Founder and CEO Steve Jobs unveiled the iPad 2, however in his absence presumably Apple s SVP World Wide Marketing Phil Schiller will present the product, however CEO Tim Cook should also be expected.
